Historiography of the group:
In
April 1996, through combination of circumstances or providence,
the guitarist Valeri and the bass-guitarist Joro from the Royal
Flush band and the piano-player Grudi and the drummer Jony from
the Alligators got together for performance in Arizona Club.
Their first rehearsal is right on the stage. The auditory fell
into ecstasies and the musicians played as if they have played
together in all their lives. This is how the future band
“Royal Alligators” was born. The name is a compilation of
the names of the bands in which the musicians have played by
that time. Valjo and George made another 6-month tour in Norway
with their old band and the official promotion of the new band,
The Royal Alligators, was in Arizona Club on Christmas Day in
December 1996. The musicians triumphed in the course of the
whole 1997 in many elite clubs such as the Library in Sofia, the
Fregata historical ship in Sunny Beach Resort and made many
concert performances. They received job offers from American
shipping companies in Norway, Italy and Russia.
In
the beginning of 1998 Grudi decided to create a boy band called
Boys’ World and that is the reason why he parted from the
“alligators”. In his place came the masterly pianist Miro.
With his coming the band changed its style from melody rock to
more progressive and hard rock. We may say this is a universal
band as regards styles. The band successful performs songs of
Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, Bon Jovi, Toto and many others. In
1998 almost any elite club was conquered in Bulgaria.
In
the summer of 1998 the “alligators” met their future manager
Norbert Nieke from Hamburg. In the atmosphere of friendly
conversations he decided to invite the band for performances in
clubs in Hamburg. Thus, on 31st December 1998 was the first
performance of the band in Germany in the Aspeloe –
Norderstedt Sports Complex. Eloquent for the successes of the
Royal Alligators in Germany is the fact that from the initially
fixed three performances another dozens appeared and they
prolonged the tour of the band for two clear months.
In
the following years the band established itself as one of the
best and most interesting formations on the club market mostly
in Hamburg. The year of 2000 is turning for the classic quartet.
Being traditionally men’s group till then it accepted the
exceptional dramatic soprano voice of Danny. Daniela conquered
the boys from the band with her exceptional voice and skills of
singing. The range and the timbre of her voice allow Danny to
easily feature songs from the repertoire of Areta Franklin,
Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, etc. The so-formed quintet took
part in a job competition in Norway in August 2000 and won an
invitation and contracts for November the same year.
In
Norway the Royal Alligators worked in renowned hotels and locals
such as Radisson SAS Hotel Lillehamer, Alexandra Hotel in Loen,
etc. Parallel to this the band continued its traditional
performances with a huge success in the most popular clubs in
Hamburg that, after 2001, were the greatest challenge. The
band’s repertoire covers a wide range of style
characteristics. From the music of the 60s – Olivia Newton
John, John Travolta to the songs of Metallica and Red Hot Chili
Peppers. In 2002 the members of the band started working on
their own songs to reveal the musicians’ rich potentiality as
well as their creative gropings and visions.
